Questioning companies for providing false information on shareholding pattern:

  MCA will probe management and auditors of 12 listed companies, including Raj Television Network and Surya Lakshmi Cotton Mills, for allegedly providing false information about the shareholding pattern. "Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) believes the 12 companies under scanner furnished false info regarding their share breakup to Regional Directors (RDs)," an official said. 

 Companies (Dematerialization of Certificates) Rules, 2011  to be introduced:

Video Conferencing will be mandatory for Listed Companies

  The Ministry of Corporate Affairs  said that From the Next Fiscal Year, every listed companies must provide the  option of video conferencing for all the shareholders to participate in the annual general meeting and its connectivity during such meetings will have at least five place in India.In respect of shareholders' meetings to be held during 2011-12, the video conferencing facility for shareholders is optional. 

 

MCA has initiated enquiry against Some Practicing Professionals for wrong eForm filing:

  MCA Directs Regional Directors to Initiate Inquiry Against Those Practicing Professionals Who Certified the Particulars Furnished by Listed Companies The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has directed its Regional Directors to initiate inquiry against those practicing professionals who had certified 12 cases of wrong e-filing by certain listed companies in their e-forms.

Company Incorporation within 24 hours in India

 

 From July onwards  you may be  able to register a  company in India within 24 hours! The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has set the target date as first week of July for launching a completely digitized service that will allow anyone with all relevant documents and approvals to complete the process of registering a company in one day. At present, the process of registering a new company takes anywhere between 10 days and a month. 

 

Strict laws for adopting child only by legally wedded couples:

16.6.2011 (UNI) The Union government has decided to enforce stricter laws for adoption of a child and to allow only legally wedded couples to adopt a child.

The Centre has finalised a draft bill which will be introduced during the forthcoming monsoon session of Parliament, Union Law Ministry official said.

Under the new law, those couples having live-in relationship will be debarred from adopting a child, the official said.

At present, a bachelor/unmarried person cannot adopt a child.

Under the new law, the adoptive parents must be within the age group of 30-50 which means that the adoptive parents must not be below the age of 30 years at the time of filing the application for adopting a child before an appropriate authority and neither of the proposed parents be above 50 years of age.
